Recently IP Telecom was awarded by the government the responsibility for implementing the new submarine telecommunications cable system which will connect Portugal mainland and the autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira (Atlantic CAM). This system will also be the first SMART Cable (Science Monitoring and Reliable Communication) in operation worldwide, with several sensors that will reshape environmental monitoring.
